Lymphatic drainage
The lymphatic drainage technique is performed through gentle and rhythmic maneuvers whose main objective is to stimulate the lymphatic system, defining it as "fine tactile stimuli without pressure." The stimulus received will be carried out on the superficial lymphatic system, since being a technique without pressure the stimulus will never reach the deep lymph planes. Because if we apply more pressure, we lose the traction of the skin and it becomes a massage at the muscular level, so we would not have the expected result. The maneuvers will follow the directions of the superficial lymph, helping to stimulate the superficial lymph will have benefits on the deep lymph even if we do not work it directly. However, during the session, through hypopressive exercises, the deep lymph will also be stimulated.
Benefits:
In the circulatory system, it generates an anti-edema effect in the treated areas. On the other hand, the nutrients that are returned to the bloodstream cause the arterial blood to return loaded with nutrients that will feed the tissue again.
In the nervous system, it activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for activating the relaxing mechanisms and preparing for sleep. Therefore, a state of generalized sedation is achieved in the patient, in addition to a decrease in muscle tone in the striated muscles. There will be an increase in intestinal peristalsis, renal infiltration, and contraction of lymphangions.
In the tegumentary system, at the subcutaneous level, the most evident effect is detoxification because it promotes the reabsorption of suspended particles and therefore, rebalances the interstitial medium, thus avoiding tissue intoxication. This causes an improvement in cellular respiration and therefore in metabolism. It also stimulates the collagen bridges that connect the skin to the muscle fascia and causes an increase in the activity of fibroblasts, which in turn generate new fibers, thickening these bridges and restoring tension to the skin.
In the immune system, it will help the maturation of defensive cells in the body.
WARNINGS
The application of each device mentioned above is subject to a prior evaluation of the patient in order to determine if it is possible to perform it according to the needs and conditions of your skin. It is important to honestly complete the clinical record on the day of the evaluation so that the therapist in question can determine the treatment that best suits you. Each treatment has certain contraindications that will be detected in the clinical record of each patient and at the time of each treatment, whether facial or body. Do not forget to mention if your skin has reacted to certain products, if you are pregnant or have sensitive skin or any other important disease that you should report.
